Virtual Dog Games

Dogs and computers are two of the greatest things about being alive.  In completely different ways, of course.  You don’t have to feed your computer or take it for a walk, and your dog doesn’t need a DLS or cable hookup.

Then again, if you’ve ever had your computer freeze up in the middle of doing some important work, and were unable to retrieve it, you could say your computer ate your homework.  So maybe they’re not that different after all?  At any rate, you can combine your love for dogs with your love of computer by playing virtual dog games online.

Of course, playing virtual dog games isn’t nearly as satisfying or rewarding as playing games with your real live dog.  But like the song says, if you can’t be with the one you love, love the one you’re with!  Our dogs usually can’t go everywhere with us, and so there are many times when we won’t have our faithful friend nearby, and can’t head down to the park for some quick fun and games.  But you can still enjoy “playing” with a dog with these fun, online games.  It’s really amazing just how much technology has not only changed our world, but revolutionized it.  Until recently, I had no idea there were virtual dog games online.  In fact, it never would have crossed my mind that someone would have taken the time to dream up and program these games.  But lo and behold, there they are.

And one of the best things about these virtual dog games is that they’re free.  No fees to download anything, no monthly membership payments, nothing.  And they’re not complicated.  Now, they’re a bit more involved that that famous dancing hamster page from way back in the early years of the internet, but they’re nothing like Myst or World of Warcraft.  You won’t have to choose an alter ego, and fight off ogres and trolls on a mythical quest.  No, they’re pretty basic.  But they are fun, and can give you a few minutes of enjoyment when you think of your dog but you can’t be there to play with him.
