Popular Dog Games
Dogs love games, and dog owners love playing games with their dogs. That’s half the fun of having a dog, right there. Heck, for some people, it’s probably way over half.
Dogs are so fun loving that it’s impossible not to have fun when they’re around. And it’s only natural that you’d want to take that fun to the next level by playing games with your dog. Anyone who doesn’t play with their dog is missing out on one of the great reasons to be alive, in my humble opinion. But I think that number is few and far between. Almost every one who owns a dog plays with it from time to time. So what are the dog games that are most popular in the United States?
Probably the best known and most popular of all the dog games is Fetch. Who hasn’t played this with their dog? You don’t need much equipment; a stick, a ball, a pair of old socks is all it takes to have hours and hours of fun every week with Fido. It’s the rare dog who won’t play this game until the sun goes down. You’ll probably get bored before he does.
The next on the list of the dog games that are most popular is probably Dog Frisbee. You still don’t need much equipment, just a Frisbee, and you can probably find one of those in your closet, or at the 99 cent store. Dogs might even like this game better than Fetch. It’s a bit more difficult to catch something in midair as opposed to pick it off the ground, but it’s got to be lot more exciting and fulfilling for him. And it’s really cool to watch him jump up and make the grab.
These are the top two, but there are lots more. Making your dog beg for a treat isn’t much of a game, but it’s very popular. So is making him sing for his supper. If yo want a game where you get worked out as much as your dog, put him on a leash and take him down to the park. Then hold him back when he spots squirrel after squirrel. This is my dog’s favorite game of all time, although he never really “wins” the game. But whatever one you play, make sure to set aside time to play with your dog
