Cat and Dog Games: Adaptable Games for Either Your Dog or Cat

There are some games that you can play with either the cat or the dog, hence the description of “cat and dog games”. However, some people might be concerned about competition becoming aggressive if the cat and dog are involved in the same game at the same time, and would rather just have access to games that could be played with either one.
There are cat and dog games available, like Funagle and Catfeats, which have a selection of activities the animal must perform, randomly selected by rolling a dice. Whatever activity comes up, you have to get the cat or dog to do it, even if only by offering a reward. This could of course be fun for larger families, including more than one pet, which different family members then have to coach into performing the desired activity. You can just imagine watching your children play this game, trying to get their pets to do things they are not accustomed to…..

Another “interchangeable” game is to have the pet find a hidden object. A dog, having a keen sense of smell, will easily catch on if its favorite toy is hidden away, and try to find it simply by scent. For a cat, hide a piece of dried fish inside a toy, and have it play with it for a while. Once it got used to the scent, you can hide it away, and the cat will be motivated to find it. As long as you reward the animals for having found the toy, you will be able to keep them motivated.

You could also (if you enjoy the fun more than the pet does), play dress up games. This game has become so popular that a wide variety of outfits are available, and people show off their “well dressed” pets. How much pleasure you can derive from this game will depend on the acceptance and patience of the animal. Fortunately, most pets love human contact - dogs even more than cats.

The only limitation in finding more cat and dog games is your imagination. Take a look at what comes naturally to both pets, and think outside the box.
